EMAIL firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions about our 2020 hike event!
Through the Trailblaze Challenge, our participants push themselves, meet new people, and transform the lives of local children fighting a critical illness.
WHAT IS THE TRAILBLAZE CHALLENGE?
Designed as an endurance event, the Trailblaze Challenge gives participants the opportunity to hike a 40km journey through the beautiful forests of E.C. Manning Provincial Park. This hike is one amazing day spent in nature to raise much needed funds to grant the wishes of children in British Columbia and the Yukon. This is a hike, not a race, and we welcome all levels of experience from novice to advanced outdoor enthusiasts.
WHEN IS THE TRAILBLAZE CHALLENGE?
Friday, September 18th, 2020: Check-in and gathering
Saturday, September 19th, 2020: Hike Day
Sunday, September 20th, 2020: celebration breakfast and departure
WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE HIKE EXPERIENCE?
IS THERE A FEE TO PARTICIPATE?
Each hiker is asked to raise a minimum amount of $2000 to help Make-A-Wish continue its mission to grant the wishes of children with critical illnesses. A non-refundable $100 deposit is requested at the time of registration and is credited toward the participant's fundraising goal.
HOW WILL PARTICIPANTS REACH THEIR GOALS?
Make-A-Wish will support hikers each step along the way by providing participants with a personalized fundraising website, as well as fundraising materials, tips, and advice. A 20-week training program and group training events will be planned leading up to hike day for hikers to build endurance and be a part of the Trailblaze community.
